Home Grown Beef and Lamb Traditionally farmed in North Bedfordshire All our sheep and cattle are reared on the farm. In the summer they graze the succulent meadows of the River Ouse and North Bedfordshire. In winter they are housed in open barns and bedded on straw. They eat only home-grown feeds of hay, silage, straw and cereals. Using those traditional farming methods and a local abattoir, we produce the very best tasting and succulent meats. Douglas and Charles Tomkins farm in partnership on land in the Ouse Valley at Clapham Bedford, producing beef from home bred and reared limousine cattle and lamb from Suffolk ewes with Texel rams. All stock is fed from products from the farm either grazing on established old pastures or silage and hay made on river meadow land. Housed in the winter on fresh straw bedding from the arable part of the farm, their diet is balanced by protein blocks and minerals. Our stock assured number is 19342
